Getting Started

All information needed to get started is on their page http://www.technicpack.net/tekkit/. Download their launcher from the left column. I sincerely recommend getting the appropriate version of Java 7 for you PC. On windows you can use either the ‘exe’ or ‘jar’ version. (Note: the Jar version requires that Java is install properly, if it is, it will let you run it by double clicking on it.) In both cases, if the 32 bit version is installed, you can bump the memory (under options) to 1.5gb, whereas the 64 bit Java will go much higher.
Once downloaded, run it and you will be presented with a massive sized drop-down menu in the top left of the window. In that, select ‘Tekkit’. Know that each drop-down item is a different mod pack, and most are single player only as there are no working servers built for them due to mod limitations. Also that each item is a separate instance and will have it’s own settings, worlds and multiplayer server list sections.
Our Server details are:
Private Host: minecraft.lifergeek.com:25568 (whitelisting enabled)
Public Host: minecraft.lifergeek.com (coming soon)
Due to my inexperience we were required a new map. I have since added the old map to our “World Hub”.
World Hub
We now have a world hub located at 1,1 in the world were you can always find it. From there you can teleport to all known places in the current world and other worlds we have defined. More places will be added as needed. This will keep us that much closer together. Eventually more scenic and interesting places will be added throughout the world.
Nerfed Creepers!
Our creepers are ‘nerfed’. This means they no longer destroy the world, they only provide damage to living things, like us.
Client Updated to 1.2.5
by admin on Apr.25, 2012, under Uncategorized
Client updated (Official Minecraft 1.2.5 + mods) built out for Windows. It’s a zip file you just unzip whereever you want it and you’ll get a sub-directory called ‘minecraft_125_ee’. This will be our official build for connecting to the server till the next update. The way it works is it starts Minecraft from within the folder and everything will stay in that folder. Your existing Minecraft will not be touched and can be upgraded if you wish.
NOTE: If the client EVER asks to update, just say NO.
Instructions:
- Download the file here: http://minecraft.lifergeek.com/files/minecraft_125_ee.zip
- Unzip the file
- Go into the minecraft_125_ee folder.
- Run one of the batch files below.
- Play!
Shortcuts:
- start_client_1024meg.bat – Run Minecraft with 1gig allocated (recommended if you use 3d or see some slowness and have the memory to burn)
- start_client_2gig.bat – Run Minecraft with 2gig allocated (recommended)
- start_client_512meg.bat – Run Minecraft with 512meg allocated (not recommended)
- start_client_default.bat – Run Minecraft with default memory settings.
Changes:
- Removed MinecraftAM, usgin Rei’s MiniMap now.
- EE no longer needs ModloaderMP
- Cleaned up the folders a little.
- Added Optifine vs the Better Grass mods from mcpatcher. Optifine is build to Multicores but will work on single core too. Let me know if this is worse or better. I have a mcpatcher jar built just in case.
Happy Playing.

Getting started! (minecraft 1.1)
by admin on Feb.20, 2012, under Uncategorized
As of 2/20/2012, we’re running Mincraft 1.1 with ‘Equivilent Exchange Mod 2′ running. If this is your first time, then download minecraft as usual from http://minecraft.org/, run once and then locate your .minecraft folder:
(Windows Obviously…)
Go to Start, Run. (or just put it in the search box on Win7) Type in:
%appdata%
This will open up an explorer windows into your App folder. In there is your .minecraft folder. Download and unzip the following file into that folder:
Once unzipped you’ll have a patched minecraft 1.1 with:
- ModLoader
- ModLoaderMP v2.1
- MinecraftForge-1.3.3.13 (client)
- HD Textures
- HD Fonts
- Better Grass
From here run you run Minecraft as usual. Enjoy.
